You’ve heard of our wonderful Kiwi Culture, now it’s time to experience it! This 12 day tour for LGBTQ travellers immerses you in everything Kiwi! Yes, we call ourselves Kiwis, after our indigenous kiwi bird, not the fruit! Join us and become a Kiwi for a while. You’ll get off the beaten tourist track, spend time with some of our favourite Kiwis, and explore a truly diverse range of experiences that we’re proud to say makes us Kiwis: learning Maori traditions and legends, savouring locally produced food and wine, sailing and swimming the local waters, dining with Kiwi farmers, viewing active geysers, meeting a real live kiwi (bird), exploring museums and galleries, and playing with some LGBTQ locals.

Day 1: Bay of Islands

Welcome to New Zealand!

  • Explore Maori culture and history at New Zealand’s most important site of historical significance, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
  • Stay in New Zealand’s first licensed hotel and meet your travel mates over a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Bay of Islands

  • Languish aboard our exclusively chartered catamaran today, enjoying golden beaches, secluded coves, tranquil harbours and warm waters.
  • Kayak, snorkel, and walk the islands or just relax on board and chat with our local skipper who is eager to share his local knowledge.

Day 3: Bay of Islands - Auckland

  • Appreciate down time to wander the quaint township of historic Russell.
  • Visit a private country homestead for a farm to table lunch prepared from ingredients from the owners' farm.
  • Check out the buzzing vibe in the restaurants, cafes and bars of Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour tonight.

Day 4: Auckland

  • Visit beautiful Waiheke Island, a haven of gorgeous vineyards, ocean vistas, and white sand beaches.
  • Experience an exclusive visit with your local Maori guide to a community marae, an ancestral Maori meeting house .
  • Walk through native bush learning about traditional and medicinal Maori uses for native plants, play with Maori musical instruments, and weave a souvenir from harakeke (native flax).

Day 5: Auckland - Rotorua

  • Journey through the rolling hills of the North Island’s farming heartland, marveling at one town’s artistic celebration of its dairy industry – painted cows!
  • Look for hobbits in the lush green hills of the Shire on the Hobbiton Movie Set, maintained exactly as it was for the filming of The Hobbit.
  • View the amazing clear waters of a natural spring on a short walk set in lush native bush.
  • Soak in a deluxe private geothermal mineral spa with panoramic views over Lake Rotorua.

Day 6: Rotorua - Napier

  • Experience a pacific-style dinner in a relaxed atmosphere, with a focus on quality, excitement, freshness, passion, and flavor.

Day 7: Napier

  • Explore or relax with a free day today.

Day 8: Napier - Greytown

  • Revel at the sight of a rare albino Kiwi, while learning of New Zealand's efforts to repopulate our country with endangered native Kiwis.
  • Visit museums of Art, History and Sheep. Enjoy a sheep shearing demonstration and learn of everything related to sheep!
  • Meet the descendent of the founders of one of our oldest and grandest historic farming homestead, while touring his farm and home.
  • Settle in Greytown, (a.k.a Gaytown), a quaint town of galleries, cafes, boutique shops, and gorgeous colonial architecture.

Day 9: Greytown

  • Explore at your leisure the lovely village of Greytown, taking in the early settler’s museum whilst indulging in beautifully handcrafted gourmet chocolates.
  • Spend the afternoon sampling New Zealand’s finest cheeses, award winning olive oils, local craft beers, and hand crafted wines on a vine to glass tour.

Day 10: Greytown - Wellington

  • Head to the vibrant waterfront capital city of Wellington, known for its food and culture.

  • Dance the night away at one of the local Wellington gay bars.
