A new partnership committed to regenerative and sustainable travel!

In September 2020, Debbie Clarke, Founder and Owner of New Zealand Awaits, teamed up with Josie Major and Eliza Raymond from GOOD Travel to collaborate in a 48 hour Tourism Design Challenge. The focus of the team, co-led by Debbie and Josie, explored how to define and measure regenerative travel. This became the start to a relationship based on a shared enthusiasm, passion, and commitment.

An Exciting Partnership

This relationship has now become a unique partnership, between New Zealand Awaits and GOOD Travel, which represents a shared commitment towards sustainable and regenerative travel. The commitment includes crafting more trips based on conscious travel principles within New Zealand. Further to this, within New Zealand and the world, the partnership aims to inspire a more regenerative approach within the tourism sector with a regenerative tourism podcast.

New Zealand Awaits, an experienced inbound tour company in New Zealand, founded on conscious travel principles with a focus on crafting small group trips for women and LGBTQ+ travellers, welcomes the insights and support of an internationally-based team and a network of global travellers that this collaboration brings.

This partnership provides GOOD Travel, a social-enterprise in New Zealand with tours mostly run internationally, in countries such as Fiji, South Africa, Thailand, Peru and others, the opportunity to develop trips with a company well experienced in crafting meaningful and memorable tours in New Zealand.

GOOD Awaits Trips

The GOOD Awaits co-branded trips will enable travellers in New Zealand to gain unique experiences in communities, learning about sustainable lifestyles and inspiring travellers to think about their own lives in new ways. When borders reopen, It is anticipated these trips will also have international appeal, as many travellers seek travel that has a deeper impact on themselves and the places they visit.

Journey to Regenerative Tourism Podcast

The Regenerative Tourism New Zealand podcast is another exciting piece to this partnership. Created by Debbie and Josie, the podcast series will prompt discussion around the way tourism is being “reimagined”, offer a platform for the collective discovery of what regenerative tourism means, and create a culture of sharing challenges, successes, models, and stories throughout the journey of regenerative travel.

A partnership grounded on shared values and a shared vision for the tourism industry in New Zealand and globally will bring countless positive initiatives.

We are certain that even more GOOD Awaits!
